Claro Walnut is a beautiful well regarded wood amongst luthiers and woodworkers. It has signature dark browns and violets. Our selection comes from the west coast of the United States, and salvaged from walnut plantations where English walnut is grafted on to Claro walnut rootstock. Feather crotch walnut was once only reserved for royalty to adorn custom furniture and thrones. Walnut has become increasingly rare due disease, slow growth and high demand.

Myrtlewood is a rare, beautiful wood that comes from the Pacific Northwest. It has excellent tonal qualities and varies in colors from white to dark browns. Figure can vary from plain to intense ripples to burl in nature. Every single myrtlewood top is truly one-of-a-kind.

Koa is a highly respected instrument wood, and is hailed for rich tones and its gorgeous rich coloring, ranging from reds and ambers to rich dark browns. It usually has gorgeous grain striping. The finest examples have intense figuring.

Redwood is an incredible wood. These trees can be as big a towering city buildings. Much of the old growth redwood forest were chopped down at the turn of the 20th century. All of our old growth redwood is salvaged from the forest floor from stumps and logs left to rot over 100 years ago. Each piece of redwood is unique and very special. Redwood is a light & soft wood, but is incredibly strong and resistant to rot. It gives wonderfully warm and rich tone to our guitars, and we love pairing it with a light piece of Swamp Ash.
