We continuously look for new ways to reduce our impact, no matter what progress we've already made. Constant improvement flows through everything we do from sourcing wood to production methods to our ultra-low VOC, water-based finishes. Born has always been about creating connections—to your instrument, your music, and our planet—and it’s only the beginning.
Our sourcing philosophy is simple: We have exacting standards, and we only use wood that we can guarantee meets them. What’s more, we vet our suppliers on an ongoing basis, not just at the start of the relationship, to ensure that they continue to exceed expectations. Why? Because it’s important to us that we all prioritize the protection of biodiversity, local communities, and the indigenous people who rely on the land—just like we do.
Whether new, reclaimed, or salvaged, understanding where and how our wood is sourced is paramount to creating an instrument that honors our connection to the land and generations to come.

Sustainability goes well beyond sourcing. 100% wind and solar energy power our shop, and we plant trees for every guitar we sell to offset our entire operation, not just our electrical use—including travel, shipping, and material use & production. Additionally, we keep close tabs on our water usage and are committed to minimizing the amount of water we use throughout manufacturing.
At Born Guitars® 100% of the energy we use to run our shop already comes from solar and wind, but we want to be sure we are doing everything in our power to make a positive impact. In addition to using 100% sustainable energy we have also offset 32 Tons of Carbon Emissions by funding reforestation and deforestation prevention programs around the world.
Protecting what’s left of the rainforest is not enough. Due to deforestation and widespread burning, our rainforests have become a net carbon emitter. Reforesting is the only way to return them to their natural state of capturing and sequestering carbon for the benefit of us all. Born supports the indegenous people and communities who rely on and protect the largest and most biodiverse jungles and rainforests around the world. Additionally, we are committed to the 12 Principles of Rewilding and Call to Action in the Global Charter for Rewilding the Earth, which calls individuals, communities, governments, and other organizations to join in creating a more beautiful future for us all.
